Notes sur cette pièce “A transcendência da escassez” (2010) translates as the transcendence of scarcity and was written specially for the THRenSEMBle. This piece has a minimalistic and distorted approach towards the choice of musical materials. As a consequence, the ensemble is transformed into a meta-instrument where the traditional function of each instrument is modified according to new perspectives. For instance, flute is responsible for harmony, while piano is transformed into a percussion instrument. In order to perceive this atmosphere, time was treated in a special way. Everything happens in a non-teleological sense, where the instant, the present, the moment, is already the main goal. My heartfelt thanks to Gyula Csapó and the THRenSEMBle.
