Clockwork 014589 II

Clockwork 014589II  is a two-piano work that features three sections defined by texture: cluttered and chaotic white noise, well-defined points, and gentle melodies.  The textures smoothly blend into and out of each other.  The performers are given only pitches in a clock-face diagram, which are distributed as they wish within the given time period.  This allows a large degree of rhythmic freedom and blurs the distinction between instruments, while still allowing the composer to control set-class simultaneities.
