Forest Ella

This work was commissioned by Argentine pianists Estela Telerman and Guillermo Carro, and it was recorded by them and released on the Pretal label.I was asked to write a tango, for a CD that would include composers between 1879 and 2007, and it just happened by chance that as I was visiting my cousin in Spain, a recording of Floreal Ruiz singing “Yuyo verde” came to my hands. I fell in love with this marvelous tango composed by Leopoldo Federico, with lyrics by Homero Exposito. So this became the backbone of my “Forest Ella”, combined with technical elements that attracted me and that kept me entertained for quite a while, as I was writing the piece.
