Lux

“Lux” is defined as the measure unit associated with illuminance, the power of “luminous emittance”. I attempt to explore the possibility of unleashing energy as my musical expression in this work. The music starts with short fragmented ideas, it gradually unfolds to longer sustained melodic lines, weaves in and out of phase with echo or distortion. Other features such as fierce pungent-chords and “lontano” string harmonics fill in the musical soundscape. The shining moment arrives after the cadenza-like strings section, in which the full energy is illuminated with simultaneous melodic lines from different instruments twisting in and out.
