disintegrated

“disintegrated” for orchestra deals with the aspect of the disruption of continuity – the continuity of sound and/or form. Sounds/tones are cut into pieces, busted, disintegrated, with the result that coherences are partly lost. A weave of sounds and pauses arises, where the pauses serve more as an interruption of the sound than formal caesuras. The formal disposition occurs at a higher level – by the method of cutting up, of fragmentation, of disintegration.
