Notes sur cette pièce Calligraphic Study was composed at Tanglewood in August 2012, as part of the ‘Piece-a-Day’ project. The work was written as an initial study in melodic ornamentation as preparation for the orchestral work the Calligrapher’s Manuscript.
It was premiered in Seiji Ozawa Hall by Alex Shiozaki and Derek Mosloff.
