Music for 2 ?

The composition of this work is based on the principle of the opposition tension-relaxation, organized here by the “empty” and the “dense” moments of the musical “events”, without letting the ones predominate upon the others. The resonance, the silence, the noisy and percussive aspect of the sound, constitute the basis of the sound material.
The flute, directly connected to the breath (blow) and to the voice, alter the voice by filtering it.
The piano, considered as huge resonator, amplifies and vibrates himself with each sound “event”. The new frequencies added to the sounds played inside the piano, are generated by the strings sympathetic vibration and by pedal control. The sound material, taken up by the tape, is transformed by the electro-acoustic means ad extremis (time stretching, pitch shifting, hybridization, filtering).
