Jet (2010) for soprano recorder and electronics. 8’
Jet (2010) for soprano recorder and electronics. 8’
Jet is a sound composition for soprano recorder and electronics. It was composed in spring 2010 for the Dutch recorder player Erik Bosgraaf. The title refers to over 60 different blowing types of the instruments which results to a great variety of sounds variates. The recorder’s part is transformed from the delicate, sensitive classic sound to a deep, rough, noisy and atmospheric instrument. The processed recorder part is combined with electroacoustic sounds recorded and processed in the studio. The mix of the two creates an aural ecology, a meta- instrument that invites the listener to mystical sonic world of fairies and demons. Jet was awarded the First Prize at the Destellos 7th International Competition of Electroacoustic Composition 2014 in La Plata/ Argentina and was Finalist at the Musica Nova 2011 International Electroacoustic Music Competition in Prague/ Czech Republic.
