Ciconietta 2015

This virtuosic duo is based on an accordion piece of 1994.
I try to find an old approach of the player of scores from the early Renaissance times. Some of those
scores around 1400 were so intricate that players had to "fly" over the texts in a kind of controlled
improvisation. The perspective could be compared with the view of a high flying bird of the world
underneath. In my "Ciconietta" I refer to composer Johannes Ciconia and his chanson "Le ray au
soleyl", a canon in 4:3:1 proportions. At least, this is one of some possible solutions of his cryptic
advice.
