Symbiosis was commissioned by horn player Amrit Gupta in early 2018. The idea was to create a work for horn and piano in which the piano does not have the role of accompaniment and is rather as important as the horn. In this work, both instruments continuously respond to each other and affect each other’s sounds. Hence, they create a symbiotic sound world.
