The piece is inspired by a verse of the poem Mid-Day by Hilda Doolittle, which I take as the title. Consequently, the compositional approach is developed from an imaginary leaf’s cycle: falling, landing, breaking and spreading. These are in fact the 4 micro-sections that structure the timbral experience, exploring the possibility of creating a slow motion and magnifying perspective of the leaf going through the whole process in a surreal time and space.
