With an uncanny resemblance to that of humans—especially suggestive, perhaps, of a woman with an hourglass figure—the four wooden bodies are not simply tools. Laid flat on top of a table, they are an objectified and vulnerable anatomy. The four wooden individuals resonate responses when surgical tools are inserted upon and within, as well as removed
from their innards. Their responses are not necessarily that of pain, or of complaints regarding an oppressed or oppressor, but simply echoes of a strange existence. Their voices’ insistence and pertinence wane with time, resembling innocuous—though perhaps artful, though perhaps odd—sonic waste.
