Some sources state that a set of hammers, weighed by the master of Samos, attested to the relationship between their masses and the intervals that separate the resonance of each blow on the anvil. From the Paleolithic to the marble ages, human cultures carved figures on stone with which they didn’t always identify themselves. Nevertheless, we often projected these sound measures (such as those produced by hammer and chisel) on celestial scales. In the repetition of the legendary experiment from the 6th century BC, we see that each attack, in itself, does not have an internal constitution as clear as that which we usually resort to in our musical instruments. At the same time, in the reiteration of inharmonic sounds we have a strong tendency to fit them into the measures of our "well-tempered" sound memories. If it is any consolation, this distortions nay lead to discursive unfoldings in our percussive idiophones, exploring contrasts between the fractalities of the different resonances.
