The inspiration for RA comes from the ancient Egyptian deity and its enormous power and influence. There is simplicity and unlimited energy in the sun disc above the god's head, and the awesome ability to generate and operate the entire universe. The orchestra is an appropriate medium for expressing the intensity and vastness, and depicts a miniature version of all the coordinated galaxies. The other seeds of the piece are the fierce desert sun, as a destroyer of sickness and triviality, the deep blue sky, and the overwhelming mystery of antiquity.
