There are three versions for different types of voices available
This is the first song of a cycle for voice and orchestra on poems by German-Jewish writer Else Lasker-Schüler that I'm working on at the moment. I wanted to write a well playable score and create a strong captivating poetic aura possessing each note drawing in the listener from the first measure on.
I want the melodies to be a natural, organic equivalent to the emotional intimacy and formal and rhythmic finesse of Else's lyric, spanning from whimsical infatuation to dramatic spiritual monument and ecstasy.
Music, in which each moment is fully there.
