“nuevos contornos” (2017) for solo bassoon is the second of a serie of work written for solo instruments, that use a develop at the melodic contour, the first is called “Contornos (2010)” and it is for alto saxophone.

The piece’s melodic lines are developing as a contour way and the whole piece is traversed for a melancholic melody that emerges in the final section.

On the other side, the piece interacts with the concert`s room acoustics and that is why the musician show the back to the public (turn around) on the highest moments.
Commissioned by movimiento Pu Joa and premiered for Franz-Jürgen Dörsam, Manzana de la Rivera, Asunción, Paraguay, October 2017.
