Storm's Morrow

Performers in the recording: Sivan Magen (harp) and Zmira Lutzky (voice)The piece is in six short movements, each serving as a musical illustration to a Haiku poem. Several musical motives unify the movements, so that each continues its precedent and not only presents new materials. A pyramid of musical connections is gradually created, telling the listener the story of the piece's protagonist: a snail, trying to climb all the way up to the top of Mount Fuji, dreaming at night it is a magnificent creature… The piece was commissioned by Sivan Magen with the support of the Jerusalem Music Center.
