Notes sur cette pièce

I like the idea of a piece slowly unfolding over time. Each small step it takes slowly begins to unfold and show its form and structure. Music is a brilliant medium to create this idea, but when we try to put this idea, this feeling into words, it becomes quite difficult. So this notion of ‘rendering’ is a useful one - the idea, like in a craft such as architecture or drafting, where the creator renders space and shape from nothing into form and structure - I have attempted to do this with a solo voice in sound.

This piece is open to be performed by any voice type, in any chosen singing style.
