Notes on this piece

Chant d’Espaces (Cosmos Song) for clarinet, dedicated to my friend the composer Roger Tessier, was written in homage to him on the occasion of his 75th birthday!

This work relates the confrontation of a shining star, symbolised by the initial melody of the half-clarinet, a melody which, from time to time, escapes or even improvises, with an inter-cosmic gas, a sort of bruité framework, which progressively frees itself. Their journey, full of unexpected events, a fine adventure with its galactic wrenchings and passions, is resolved in a final fusion, the shining star being sublimated in a whirl of sound.

World premiere on November 19th, 2014 within the framework of the days UCO dedicated to Roger Tessier in Angers, by Émilie Jacquin clarinet.
