"The Alps Blues Clone" is dedicated to Martin Jaggi and Leopold Hurt, who were both in my Hamburg composition class and met there, both as finished composers and musicians.
"The Alps Blues Clone" is for old and new sounds, settling between two moods that are in my head:
1st from a childhood in Bad Segeberg where I heard the "Engel Familie" from the Alps. This "folk music" wanders through the simple chords of the tonal language as if from a distant time.
2nd from a present time, where I vehemently seek a harmony that sheds light on gone times and now times and places. Its core is a tapping on ancient processes, so ancient that even insects know it: Hearing difference tones.
