Videos on this piece
Notes on this piece The composition has been written around the october of the 2014 quickly after the completion of “Pulse” for violin solo unaccompaniment on requested by The Sugar Bear Saxophone Quartet, composer’s friend. The piece based on an idea of using irregular pulse or unconventional beat but notated with the simple notation. Three essential elements on this piece are ornamented melody(mostly in mixed pentatonic scale), pulse(accented note) of drone tone and various kinds of percussive sounds created by an instrument. The composer expressed and developed his own heritage sound from Thai classical music with the mixture of extended saxophone Techniquese.g. air noise, key click, slap tongue, mouth ram, etc. It was firstly intended to delineate Thai classical singing technique which is elegantly decorated with the ornamented note on irregular rhythm.
