“Krakatoa” presents a powerful text - based entirely on the poems “Corps perdu”, “Mot” and “Tam tam”, by Aimé Césaire (1913-2008) - born during my research on the musicalities of the global south, an occasion during which I came across the literature and political thought of Aimé Césaire on negritude and colonization. “Krakatoa” is made of spoken voice, guttural voice, syncopated rhythms. “Krakatoa” is not bel canto. “Krakatoa” is anti-colonialist. “Krakatoa” is made of bodies. Commissioned by Les Cris de Paris. [texts in french]
