Metamorphoseon
This work was awarded with the first prize in the “VI International Jurgenson Competition for Young Composers” (Moscow, 2011)The metamorphosis is used as associated process at different formal levels, a fact that is seen in both the nature of the materials and in the manner in which these are juxtaposed. Thus, the evolution of the musical discourse is based on sound objects that metamorphose to generate other of different nature. Contrasting categories, as saturation – not saturation, continuous sound – granulated, stability – instability, characterize the opposing phases of the process of change, that in all cases resulting in states of high timbric saturation. In this way, are set different relations between the instruments of the group; sometimes the string quartet works as a single instrument, in the extreme case produce a counterpoint of lines that metamorphose themselves. In any case, the timbre and, in a more precisely way, their changes are converted into the axis of the discourse.
