Filippo Zapponi (Milan, 1976) a étudié la composition avec Ivan Fedele – Civica Scuola di Musica de Milan, Conservatoire « Giuseppe Verdi » de Côme (Italie) et Conservatoire de Strasbourg (France) ; il a été son assistant, après avoir obtenu deux diplômes de composition (en 2000 et 2001) avec honneur. Il s'est ensuite perfectionné avec Brian Ferneyhough, Brice Pauset et Stefano Gervasoni à la Session de composition « Voix nouvelles » de la Fondation Royaumont (2001) et a étudié à nouveau avec Ferneyhough au Centre Acanthes (2002). Sélectionné à deux reprises par le Comité de lecture, il a fréquenté à l'Ircam (Paris) le Stage d'été (2006) et le Cursus I (2008-09) où il s'est spécialisé dans les nouvelles technologies avec Yan Maresz, Philippe Hurel, Philippe Manoury et Marco Stroppa. La rencontre avec Karlheinz Stockhausen a été également très marquante dans sa formation : il a étudié la composition et l'analyse avec le compositeur allemand (Stockhausen Courses Kürten) à la Fondation Stockhausen pour la musique (Stockhausen – Stiftung für Musik Kürten) à Kürten, près de Cologne (Allemagne), où il a organisé également les rencontres entre les compositeurs participants. En 2007, il a obtenu un Master II-Recherche en Musicologie, avec la mention « Très bien », à l'Université de Strasbourg, avec un mémoire sur l'opéra Freitag aus Licht de Stockhausen, que le compositeur lui-même a qualifié de « Travail exemplaire et ouvrage décisif ». Filippo Zapponi a travaillé au Centro Tempo Reale de Luciano Berio (Florence, 2000-01) ; établi en France en 2001, il a réalisé de nombreux projets à vocation pédagogique, tels quels l'opéra pour enfants Opera mundi (2003) et Le voyage des grues cendrées (2008) ; ce dernier a obtenu le prix « S'Unir pour agir » de la Fondation de France. Il a collaboré également avec la compagnie de danse Blicke à l'occasion de plusieurs productions internationales. Entre 2005 et 2014, il a été chargé de cours de composition, d'analyse et d'orchestration au CFMI (Centre de Formation de Musiciens Intervenants) à l'Université de Strasbourg. Filippo Zapponi est professeur d'enseignement artistique titulaire de composition, analyse et orchestration au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional « Gabriel Pierné » de Metz Métropole. Lauréat de plusieurs concours de composition – dont le Concorso de Composizione « Castello di Belveglio » (1er prix deux années de suite, en 1999 et 2000) et le prestigieux Concours International de Composition « Festival Pablo Casals » à Prades (1er prix en 2015) –, ses œuvres sont interprétées en Europe, États-Unis, Amérique du Sud et Asie où il collabore avec de nombreux ensembles, solistes et festivals : Arditti Quartet, Jeffrey Lyman, Mario Caroli, Ensemble Linea, Sentieri Selvaggi, Biennale Musica de Venise, Festival Casals, Expo Milan 2015, Fondation de France, Radio Svizzera, Musée Würth-France, MAMC-Strasbourg, Opéra-Théâtre de Metz Métropole, Opéra National du Rhin, France Culture, Festival Musica, University of Michigan, Soochow University School of Music (Chine), Ircam, entre autres.Featured Pieces
